Mayhem is a Black Metal band from Oslo, Norway, which was founded by Manheim (drums), Euronymous (guitar & vocals), and Necrobutcher (bass) in 1984.
The name "Mayhem" was taken from the Venom song called "Mayhem With Mercy".
Initially influenced by music genre Mayhem Death Metal, Speed Metal. Mayhem has changed their musical style several times, from Black Metal, Death Metal, Progressive Metal, Industrial and Electronica.
