Skyfire is a Melodic Death Metal / Extreme Power Metal / Progressive Metal band from Hoor, Sweden, formed in 1995 by Andreas Edlund (guitar), Martin Hanner (bass, keyboards), Jonas Sjögren (bass) and Tobias Björk (drums).
Skyfire mixing elements of Melodic Death Metal, Black Metal, Power Metal, Neo-Classical Metal, Progressive Metal and Symphonic Metal in their music. Skyfire themed lyrics about sadness and depression.
In 2003, Skyfire European tour together with Ancient Rites, Blood Red Throne and Thyrfing. In 2004, Skyfire touring with Dark Moor and perform at Busan Rock Festival together with Arch Enemy, Soilwork and Rage in South Korea.
After a brief hiatus and a series of member changes, Skyfire rose again in 2007.
Skyfire spent two and a half years to write material album "Esoteric" (September 2009) and recorded in Powernest Studios, Gothenburg, Sweden. On the album, "Esoteric", Skyfire uses orchestral choirs, more progressive and heavy riffs.
