School may be out, but
Alice Cooper is still at the top of the class. Alice Cooper is among the members of the class of 2011 to be inducted into the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame next year. The shock rocker, born Vincent Damon Furnier, built his reputation on his theatrical, fake-blood-soaked live shows, which included guillotines, electric chairs, dolls, snakes and other gory props, paving the way for acts like
Marilyn Manson. He is also known for hits like 'School's Out,' 'No More Mr. Nice Guy' and 'Eighteen.'
Cooper, 62, will be inducted into the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame alongside the likes of
Neil Diamond,
Tom Waits and
Dr. John, during a ceremony that will take place March 14 at New York City's Waldorf-Astoria hotel.
So, who wasn't chosen for induction into the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame alongside Alice Cooper?
Bon Jovi, the
Beastie Boys and the
J. Geils Band, to name a few. Oh well, there's always next year.
