ULTIMATE POP SENSATION, ALEXANDRA BURKE CELEBRATES TRIUMPHANT YEAR WITH ALBUM RE-RELEASE
Following three number one singles, a number one double platinum selling album, innumerable radio spins and a UK tour for early next year selling at haste, Alexandra Burke celebrates her champion year with a brand new, deluxe version of her debut album 'Overcome.'
Originally released in 2009, the A-list produced album has to date whistled past the international million sales mark and will soon surpass that figure on home turf alone. Created with the help of the industries most in-demand production houses (Roc Nation and Jay-Z, RedOne, The Phantom Boyz, Ne-Yo and Stargate) the album has produced five massive hit singles and now Alexandra is ready for round two.
'Overcome Deluxe Edition' features Alexandra's five smash singles 'Hallelujah,' 'Bad Boys,' 'Broken Heels,' 'All Night Long,' and this summer's number one hit 'Start Without You.' In addition, it now includes a new version of the emotional ballad 'The Silence,' the lead track from the album, as well as three brand new songs.
'Perfect,' written for Alexandra by US singer-songwriter Bruno Mars, is an epic ballad, showcasing Burke's superlative vocals, while 'What Happens On The Dancefloor' sees her team up with American Pop-Punk band 'Cobra Starship' for another knockdown dance floor smash courtesy of RedOne. 'Before The Rain' completes the line up; delivering the final blow of pop brilliance.
Since emerging as victor of the X Factor in 2008, Alexandra Burke has been nominated for numerous awards including the BRITS and MOBO'S and recently won the award for Ultimate Pop Star at the Cosmopolitan woman of the year awards. Rehearsals for her own UK tour for 2011, are underway and she has also completed a harrowing hike up the Inca Trail in Peru for charity, as well as her two relief trips to Haiti following the earthquake. The last two years have been somewhere beyond Alexandra's dreams.
' have to prove that I am worthy of all the incredible emotion and love I feel from fans' she says. 'The last year has been amazing and I can't wait to get out on tour and feel the connection with the audience. It'll be special to finally have my own show and be up on stage everynight, it's where I feel at home.'
