Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker has been talking about releasing his first solo record since November 2009, but next month it'll finally see the light of day: Give the Drummer Some hits stores February 22.
The album is expected to be a star-studded affair that will include luminaries from both the hard rock (Slash, Tom Morello, Corey Taylor) and hip-hip (Eminem, Lil Wayne, RZA) world. Barker plays drums and co-produced Give the Drummer Some, but he'll be leaving the singing to others.
There had been speculation that Barker's album would drop as early as October 2010, but when that release date came and went the record's status became uncertain, although the drummer would occasionally provide updates through Twitter. The delays may have proved frustrating, but fans should bear in mind that this is the first Blink record to emerge since the band reunited nearly two years ago: The pop-punk trio are, however, shooting to put out their first studio record in eight years this summer.
